Great Leaders Are Like Maestros!

Closeup image of a smiley business leader clapping at their overhead leader, a great leader is like a Maestro!Have you ever noticed that a great leader is a lot like the maestro who conducts an orchestra? I’ve had the pleasure and severe good fortune to work for some exemplary leaders who create synergy and synchronize the elements of a team to make beautiful music in their business. When they are at the top of their craft, great business leaders are very similar to the conductor of the symphony. All eyes are on the leader as the audience quiets, expecting the first notes of the concert.

Great Business Strategy

A brilliant leader makes great selections and decisions about which pieces of business their team will pursue and how they will implement their business plan to make beautiful music in delivering a melodic value proposition to prospects and customers.

Great Business Relationships

Outstanding businesses are always built on a solid foundation of talented people working together. Great business leaders know that their team needs to learn to work together, the way a symphony must learn to play together, with each person playing their piece. By focusing on their people, they ensure that the performance will be strong.

Great Business Results

A talented business team delivers consistent results, ensuring that they add value to the products and services that comprise their solution to the customer. A strong leader will always be skilled at helping the team to identify the correct approach in delivering solutions so that the customer perceives that the solution has been delivered with mastery. The leader conducts the team by outlining repeatable processes that practice will make perfect, ensuring a great performance every time.

Clear Business Roles

A gifted business leader helps the team to understand their roles and responsibilities, much the way the woodwinds understand their contribution to the musical piece the symphony is playing. Each department in the business team contributes to organizational success in delivering value to the customer, paying close attention to their role. Each role is unique, yet contributes to the overall piece or process.

Great Business Guidance

Forward-thinking leaders anticipate problems, conflicts, and mistakes, and prepare the team to handle them in advance of the occurrence, so the team is calm in handling them. By defining the rules of operation for the team and the mechanisms for making important decisions, they eliminate the likelihood that the team will come unglued when the pressure is on. This minimizes tension and calms the nerves of the team, allowing them to deliver the performance of their lives when the curtain is opened.

Talk To A Maestro In Coaching

Have you noticed the similarities between a gifted business leader and your favorite symphony conductor? Talent is wonderful to witness when it’s on a stage, whether that stage is at the local concert hall or in the local business market. Let me know what you think, and add a comment to this post. We’d love to hear about a great leader you’ve worked with and your stories about how they helped you and your team to make beautiful music in the field of commerce. If you’d like to learn more about how to make music with your team, contact us and an experienced coach would be happy to discuss your leadership challenges in a free consultation.
